For the first time in their history, FC Bayern have now moved up to second place in the UEFA rankings that determines seeding in the CL tournament.

Having been to the CL finals two of the last three years, and generally always doing well, it's not a big shocker, but it's still nice to see, and reflects the outstanding success of the club.

The coefficient is calculated based on the results of the club in the last 5 years of CL and EL competition (80% of the ranking), combined with the performance of the league as a whole (20%).

Not surprisingly, the only team currently ahead of Bayern is Barcelona, who have a few CL wins to their name in the recent past.

As far as other BL teams, the next best German team is Schalke at 18, while Dortmund languishes at 60.
